Content Marketing Project Outline
During the month of January, I’m going to be learning as much as I can about content marketing and then putting newfound understanding into place through running Facebook Ads about the content I publish. What I plan on doing might be a bit ambitious at times, but the end product will be worth it. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ll be working on by week and what type of content I’ll be posting throughout.
Week 1
Throughout the first week, I’ve been learning all I can about content marketing. I started the Hubspot Content Marketing Certification Course and I’ll be consuming as much information as I can on these topics.
I believe that the best way to learn something and to work out all the flaws and gaps in one’s knowledge is to teach it to others so therefore I’ll be putting together an e-book on everything I learn pertaining to content marketing.
I plan on documenting every part of the process and how I go about self-publishing and the mistakes and successes that I have along the way when learning how to run ads to my ebook and create amazing content that works in the realm of permission marketing more than interruption marketing. Although I will be diving into both this month.
Week 2
I will continue to rigorously research the world of content marketing and learn all that I possibly can on this topic. I plan on compiling dozens of extensive notes in my second brain in Evernote and then using these to start piecing together the initial draft of my ebook.
I will be documenting this process in the form of blog posts. As I learn how to document more effectively with the following Praxis Wednesday and going back through previous Praxis Monday sessions I will change my approach as I see fit.
In week 2 I will finish the HubSpot content marketing course. I will also compile everything I learn into the initial draft of my ebook.
Week 3
This week I’ll be learning more about self-publishing and I’ll be turning my e-book into something that is worth buying. I will be working on putting as much value into the e-book as I possibly can.
I originally planned on making the ebook 50 pages, but I think it will turn out better if I don’t set a specification on how long or short the e-book as to be. If it turns out to be 25 pages then that is alright, if it turns out to be around 50 or more then that is also alright.
Instead of focusing on page count I will be focusing on adding as much value as I possibly can to the reader on the other side.
By the end of the week, my goal is to have the book at least submitted to amazon to be listed. I will do some research on the price of marketing ebooks and I will set a listing for at least 99 cents for my new ebook.
Week 4
During the early parts of this week, I will brush up on my Facebook Ads skills and will begin running ads to my ebook. I will test different ads and copy variations. If this doesn’t work out it may be of my interest to create a landing page to send people to that send people to my ebook instead of straight to the listing.
These are the things that I’ll be testing out in the last week of this month and I plan on posting a few blog posts to explain my process and to document everything that I did throughout the month.
I plan on showing the value I have in marketing by showcasing my ability to create results while running Facebook ads. My ability to test different ads and change my approach until I find something that works. And my ability to dive deep and learn anything that I need to learn in a short amount of time if need be.
